ACTIONS AGAINST MAXMARA AND ESCADA (HOLLAND)

The Hague, Holland, 19 September 2009 –
Respect voor Dieren did her part in the international campaign against Max Mara, with a picketline in front of the MaxMara shop in the Hague. Almost directly after we started, MaxMara closed her opened door, to keep her costumers from hearing our yelling “Max Mara Shame – Blood on your hands!” It didn't help much, as everybody who came out of the shop would get a leaflet about the
fur-production, a photo of a skinned rabbit included. Almost nobody entered the shop and most people turned around when we told them Max Mara still sells real fur.

After Max Mara we went to ESCADA, who also closed their door. They actually didn't get any costumer after we arrived. A lot of people showed their support for our action, some thought that all fur was fake nowadays. We explained people how to recognize real fur: pull the hairs from eachother, if you see the white leather, you are in fact looking at the skin of an animal that was brutally murdered.

One woman said she wouldn't oppose fur, if the animal was killed on an animalfriendly way. “Sorry? Killed on a friendly way?”Animalfriendly fur is simply not existing, not now, not ever! Fur is not trendy, not cool, not beautiful, not elegant, fur is sick!

Untill the last cage is empty! Put your
anger into action!
