LOUD DEMO AT MAXMARA SHOP IN OTTAWA (CANADA)

On the final day of the International Day of Action Against Max Mara, Ottawa activists held a loud demo at Holt Renfrew, a department store housing a Max Mara boutique. Surrounded by big tall buildings the acoustics were great and our chants against fur and Max Mara could be heard for many blocks. Across the street stands the swanky Crown Plaza Hotel where we saw many people watching from their windows and from one room a hotel guest screamed out the window "Max Mara sucks for selling fur!" Holt Renfrew has large window displays showcasing fur and decorated with toy animals as well as beautiful pictures of wild fox, mink, raccoon and other fur bearing animals.
The hypocrisy and nerve of Holt Renfrew and Max Mara is truly disgusting and we promise to return.

This is the second Canadian city protesting against Max Mara and there are other cities who will soon start. The movement against Max Mara is growing and actions across the world are truly inspiring!

Afterwards some of the activists confronted Paula Lishman, a cruel 'fashion designer' who looks very similar to Cruella DeVille, at a Carleton University fashion show. Activists walked through an open side door and stood in front of her stall as two customers were trying on disgusting fur sweaters and hats. Activists held signs with graphic images of animal corpses killed for fur, screamed at the murderer and chanted anti fur slogans. People from all over the show looked on and seemed supportive. Shame on Carleton University for inviting her to the fashion show.
