UPDATES TO LEGAL STRUGGLES IN BERLIN (GERMANY)

On 01.07.09 at the Berlin county court the appeal was heard against an injunction which MaxMara had filed to prevent regular demonstrations.
The injunction banned an activist from holding/organising demonstrations within 50 meters of MaxMara stores. Furthermore injunctions mean huge costs for the respondents if they do not appeal against them. The court granted the appeal after the hearing and the injunction was
overruled.
Protesters are again able to hold demonstrations directly in front of the store.

We find the result of the hearing a success, but it remains to see whether MaxMara will take the case against the protests to the next higher court.
