On 4th April 2009 at 10 a.m. numerous animal rights associations built their stalls, the participants were: Save Animals (Luxembourg), Fourrure Torture (France). The stalls displayed an impressive amount of petitions to be signed, animal rights tshirts and accessories, vegan recipes and food. At 13h the demonstration started and about 100 people walked the streets of the city of Luxembourg despite the mayor interdiction to access 3 streets were the targeted fur shops are located. Round the corner of each of these streets, the march paused and informed the public about the fur industry. The emphasis was put on Escada (that has declared it will stop selling fur in Luxembourg) and there was a call for boycotting other shops that still sell fur, notably Max Mara. There was some kind of tension as the demonstrators passed by Mc Donalds and were asked not to reply to the provocation of the usual trouble-makers that tried to insult the activists. The stalls remained in the pedestrian area until 6 p.m. and some participants gathered an hour later to protest in front of the circus that displays acts. The activists used megaphones and banners to
