RESPECT VOOR DIEREN IN ACTION (BELGIUM)
At 29 november the animal rights organisation ‘‘Respect voor Dieren’’ (www.respectvoordieren.nl ) held a protest against Max Mara in Antwerpen, Belgium.
With a 45 minutes protest it was a short but very powerful protest. We chanted different facts into the shopping public about the fur industry and obviously lots of them were shocked when they heard the truth. Some employees quickly took a look outside the shop to catch a view of what was happening outside.
It was very sad to see the numbers of people wearing fur but also a great opportunity to let everyone in the public see that fur isn’t a thing from the past, but still a living industry. And of course a great opportunity to let them see that there is a movement well alive against it! We talked to lots of people about the fur industry and had some very good conversations.
And of course our big friends from the police were also there. With a whole police circus they were easy recognizable even though they tried to stay undercover! (Not so hard to find if there are a group of angry looking men following you the whole day!)They even had a camera crew with them to capture the ‘‘animal rights terrorists’’ who were handing out leaflets and shouting some facts about the fur industry on tape! Sadly enough they got a bit grumpy when we made some pictures of them, and wanted to seize our camera if we didn’t deleted them!
We promised Max Mara to be back, and we’ll make sure we WILL be back!
Time after time after time ‘till Max Mara get’s their fur out of their shops!
Go fur free Max Mara! You can’t get rid of us no matter how hard you try!
