FUR FREE FRIDAY IN MONTREAL (CANADA)
On the 28th of November for Fur-Free Friday, activists in Montreal joined the international campaign to stop Max Mara from using and selling fur. 20 activists held a funeral procession for the
50.000.000 animals tortured and killed for fur each year.
Activists were joined by the grim reaper, and wore furs that were covered in blood, some carrying leg hold traps. The protest was covered by one of Canada's leading tv network.
We first started at Holt Renfrew, the main distributor for Max Mara in Montreal, and walked over to Escada shouting anti-fur chants.
This is the first but not the last demo against Holt Renfrew: until they stop selling Max Mara products we will continue our demos and leafleting. The campaign will only get stronger! Many people were horrified at the pictures and were informed-with the megaphone- of the horrors of the fur industry.
Many promised to boycott Holt Renfrew and Max Mara. Time to stop selling fur!!
*On a side note, we noticed Alan Herscovici spying on us through a window of Holt Renfrew. This coward is the executive vice-president of the fur council of canada, and he wrote an anti-animal rights book in the 80's. The fur council of canada receives lots of money in government grants.
At a time when the Prime Minister is cutting grants to the arts, women's organizations, as well as other important groups, they continue to fund this
eco-terrorist, apparently to spy on anti-fur activists.
