FUR-FREE FRIDAY AGAINST MAXMARA (ITALY)

The first Worldwide Fur-Free Friday on november 28th saw more than 100 demos on the same day in 30 different countries. Groups and organizations taking part ranged from grassroots and radical groups to more welfarist animal rigths ones, everyone doing their own part and using their own means and messages to highlight the silent
suffering taking place in fur farms for the fashion trends set byhigh class brands like Max Mara.

We decided to take part to Fur-Free Friday and there have been demos at Max Mara or Max&Co stores in 7 italian cities. In the same days Max Mara stores have been demoed also in New York, Washington and Moscow!

Acivists in Milano demoed the Norwegian Consulate to support the campaign launched by Network for Animal freedom in order to close down all 500 norwegian fur farms.
They did an excellent work, with an extremely useful investigation, and are already having results, with some of the farms closed down after inspectionsby the authorities.
After the Consulate demos took place in front of 2 max Mara stores.
The number of activists has een limited by the snow storm that paralyzed the city, but max Mara can be sure now that we will be ready to fight whatever happens...

More activists were present at the demos in Genova, where the chants went on no-stop right near the door of both Max Mara and Max&Co shops, one after the other.
No customers, bad image, hedache for the workers. This is what you get for selling fur!

Other demos took place in Bologna, Caserta, Varese and Forlì, all with the result of lost customers for the shops and a lot of information spread on how the fur industry kills millions of animals every year, to be skinned and sold in boutiques like max Mara.
